Curricular Practical Training
What is CPT?
- CPT is employment that is required for your major or is for internship course credit. Examples: internships, cooperative education, and practica.
Am I eligible for CPT? - Students must have maintained F-1 status for one academic year.
Optional Practical Training
What is OPT?
- OPT provides international students with work experience in their major field of study for a maximum of 12 months. It can be done full-time after completion of studies.

- Students must have maintained F-1 status for one full academic year.

F-1 Employment
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a period during which undergraduate and graduate students with F-1 status who have completed or have been pursuing their degrees for more than nine months are permitted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to work for at most one year on a student visa. F-1 students are permitted a total of 12 months towards practical training, once certified by the SDUIS advisor as to the usefulness of the work towards goals of the degree, which can be distributed between Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and OPT.

Schedule
Classes are held on:
Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-5:20 pm Weeknights from 1:35pm-5:45pm or 5:50pm-10:00pm.
*Each class meets for 6 Saturdays or 12 evenings.
To maintain I-20 status, international students are required to enroll in at least 3 courses a quarter, one of which may be online.
Tuition
- BA Business: $390 per month
- MBA: $400 per month
Students have the following payment options: Quarterly-Payment-in-full, Pay-as-you-go, or Student Loans.
